Allan Border and Sunil Gavaskar  The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is a cricket trophy awarded to the winner of the Test cricket series played between Australia and India. The trophy is named after former Australian cricket captain Allan Border and former Indian cricket captain Sunil Gavaskar. The series is considered to be one of the most fiercely contested rivalries in international cricket.   The Border-Gavaskar Trophy was introduced in 1996-97, and since then, Australia and India have played 14 Test series against each other, with Australia winning 5, India winning 7, and 2 series ending in a draw.
